Kuala lumpur: Final preparations for the HAWANA-DBP 2026 Pantun Festival, which will take place tomorrow, are progressing smoothly, with the organising committee completing the final arrangements to ensure the competition runs seamlessly.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bernama Chief Executive Officer Datin Paduka Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin stated that the programme is expected not only to elevate national heritage but also serve as a platform to uncover media practitioners' talents in the art of pantun. She expressed satisfaction with the arrangements made for the event and noted the hard work of the organising committee.
Nur-ul Afida highlighted a new setting at Panggung Sari, Kompleks Kraf, designed to inspire participants to deliver their pantun in a more engaging manner. She emphasized the festival's commitment to traditional identity, with participants wearing classic Malay attire and traditional song performances by Mawi enhancing the experience.
The winners of the competition will be announced during the National Journalists' Day (HAWANA) 2026 celebration in Penang on June 20. Eight teams, including Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) and Bernama, will compete under the theme 'Journalism and Technology'.
