All Immigration Department Counters Closed for Public Holidays

Kuala lumpur: All Immigration Department (JIM) counters, including those at Urban Transformation Centres (UTCs), will not be operational on Monday, June 1, and Tuesday, June 2. This temporary closure is due to the observance of the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and Wesak Day.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the closure announcement was made through a social media post, indicating that services will resume on Wednesday, June 3. The decision is in line with the government's agreement to declare public holidays on these significant occasions.

A statement by the Ministry of Human Resources highlighted that the Official Birthday of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is considered one of the five mandatory paid holidays in Peninsular Malaysia, including the Federal Territory of Labuan. Additionally, Wesak Day, which falls on a Sunday, allows employees to enjoy a replacement holiday on Tuesday, following the prevailing regulations.
