AKPS In Midst Of Completing Process For Intake Of 200 Former Military Personnel

Port klang: The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) is completing the intake procedure for 200 former military personnel to strengthen the agency's role in empowering the country's border control. AKPS director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain described the move as a strategic effort to ensure the intake of military veterans is carried out in an organised manner and free of any issues that may arise in the future.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Shuhaily stated that the recruitment process is being meticulously implemented to ensure all aspects of administration, staffing, and guideline compliance are met before the official intake. He emphasized the anticipated value that former military personnel would bring to the agency, particularly in terms of discipline, operational experience, and tactical capability at the country's entry points.

He further mentioned that filling these positions will help bolster the operational capacity of AKPS. Additionally, he has applied for more positions for the Port Klang AKPS, although he refrained from disclosing the total number of positions requested. The AKPS is also focusing on enhancing its existing human resources to improve operational efficiency continuously.

Earlier, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail informed that the Public Service Department (JPA) had approved 200 positions for the recruitment of former military personnel for the AKPS. This approval was announced during the oral question-and-answer session in Parliament.
