Kuala lumpur: AirBorneo Airways Sdn Bhd (AirBorneo) wishes to remind passengers that the safest and most reliable way to purchase flight tickets is directly through the airline's official sales channels.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak-owned airline stated that in recent months, it has encountered cases of unauthorised reselling or scalping of its tickets online through third-party aggregators. The airline warned that purchases of these tickets may result in passengers facing difficulties after booking. These issues may include inflated pricing, unauthorised administrative charges, delayed or failed booking confirmations, and challenges in obtaining refunds or rebooking assistance during flight disruptions.
Booking directly with AirBorneo ensures accurate, up-to-date fares with no hidden mark-ups or undisclosed service fees. Passengers also receive full entitlement to compensation and protections under the Malaysian Aviation Consumer Protection Code (MACPC) 2016. AirBorneo Airways does not authorise the resale of its tickets at marked-up prices by unofficial agents or platforms and cannot be held responsible for issues arising from bookings made outside of its official channels.
The airline strongly encourages passengers to purchase tickets only via the official AirBorneo website, www.airborneo.com, the official AirBorneo mobile application available on the App Store and Google Play, authorised AirBorneo ticketing counters, and appointed travel agents. For enquiries regarding suspected fraudulent listings or third-party booking issues, passengers may contact AirBorneo's customer service at 1 300 22 1388 within Malaysia or +60 8253 7555 outside of Malaysia.
