Kuala lumpur: AirBorneo Airways (AirBorneo) marked Sarawak Day by launching its first international route, connecting Kuching with Singapore via Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 4.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sarawak-owned airline announced that flight MY363 departed from Kuching on July 22 at 6.50 pm, arriving in Singapore at 8.04 pm. The return flight, MY364, left Singapore at 9.27 pm and landed in Kuching at 10.36 pm. The launch of this route on Sarawak Day symbolizes Sarawak's progress and its growing connectivity within the region.

AirBorneo chairman Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki emphasized the significance of this milestone for both the airline and Sarawak. He stated that Singapore serves as an important regional gateway, and this new route is expected to enhance tourism, trade, investment, and interpersonal connections between Sarawak and Singapore.

AirBorneo's chief executive officer, Megat Ardian Wira Mohd Aminuddin, highlighted the strategic choice of Singapore as their first international destination, given the robust connectivity and economic ties between Sarawak and this key regional hub. He expressed optimism about expanding AirBorneo's network to more destinations, thereby strengthening regional connectivity and supporting Sarawak's long-term growth.

The airline will operate daily flights between Kuching and Singapore, with tickets for the new route available for purchase via the AirBorneo website and mobile app.
