Langkawi: AirAsia has formalized a charter service contract with the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) valued at RM99.5 million, which includes special aircraft leasing until August 1, 2027. The contract covers daily and special charter arrangements across domestic routes in Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the announcement was made in conjunction with the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) 2025 exhibition. The service underscores AirAsia’s commitment to utilizing its extensive domestic network and frequent flights to offer reliable and efficient transportation solutions for the MAF.
AirAsia will provide MAF personnel with commercial flights from Monday to Friday, facilitating duty and welfare travel in line with the airline’s existing schedule, ensuring seamless integration and maintaining passenger convenience. Additionally, there will be special charter arrangements involving the exclusive use of entire aircraft for MAF personnel, without mixing with commercial passengers.
Datuk Captain Fareh Mazputra, AirAsia Malaysia’s chief executive officer, stated that this partnership reaffirms AirAsia’s commitment to serving the nation and supporting government initiatives. The contract also includes comprehensive services such as in-flight meals, luggage handling, and logistical support from the airport to military camps, ensuring the comfort and well-being of MAF personnel during their movements.
