Langkawi: The arrival of the festive season saw more than 100,000 passengers use the ferry service from Kuala Perlis and Kuala Kedah to Langkawi and vice versa, from March 27 to April, in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ferry Line Ventures Sdn Bhd (Ferry Line) Operations Manager Lieutenant Commander (B) Norhafiz Abdul Wahid reported that 45,063 passengers traveled on the Kuala Kedah-Langkawi-Kuala Kedah route, while 55,649 passengers used the Kuala Perlis-Langkawi-Kuala Perlis route during the period.
Ferry Line Ventures conducted an average of 10 trips from Kuala Kedah and Kuala Perlis, with two additional trips arranged in response to high ticket demand during the two days leading up to Raya and the peak days of Raya from Monday to yesterday.
During this period, a total of 30 additional trips were provided for all routes. The company enhanced the readiness of all its ferries, contributing to the smooth operation of services without any disruptions during the festive season.
Ferry operators ensured that all ferries were prepared for high efficiency and could be mobilized at any time, especially during peak periods. This approach will also be implemented during the Langkawi International Air and Maritime Exhibition 2025 (LIMA ’25).
