Aidilfitri: Selangor Cops To Deploy Over 700 Personnel To Ensure Smooth Traffic Flow

Selangor: Selangor police will deploy 717 personnel, including 71 officers, to ensure smooth traffic flow during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration. Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan announced the deployment plan, which includes 49 traffic police cars and 87 motorcycle patrol units that will be conducting patrols across 18 locations expected to experience traffic congestion during the festival.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the locations include major routes such as the KL-Karak Expressway, Gombak Toll Plaza, Jalan Klang-Teluk Intan, Jalan Kuala Selangor-Rawang, and the Sungai Besi Toll Plaza. Datuk Hussein highlighted that an estimated 1.6 million vehicles are expected to enter and exit Selangor during the festive period. He shared these details with reporters during the launch of a road safety campaign at the Kajang-Seremban Highway’s Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza. The event was also attended by Selangor Road Transport Department director Azrin Borhan.

In another development, Hussein mentioned that the police are nearing the completion of their investigation into the recent armed heist of a gold shop in Kota Damansara on Saturday, March 22. Police have recorded statements from 12 individuals, including witnesses and the suspect, who is an auxiliary policeman employed by a utility company. Earlier, authorities arrested a 32-year-old man suspected of escaping with seven trays of jewellery, with the losses estimated at RM2 million.
