Colombo: Malaysian professional shuttler Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin clinched the men’s singles title at the Sri Lanka International Challenge 2025. The world-ranked number 68 player triumphed over India’s Pranay Katta, ranked 210, with scores of 21-19, 21-15, in a match that lasted 47 minutes at the St Joseph Sports Complex.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this victory marks Aidil Sholeh’s second international title, having previously won the Indonesia International Challenge in 2023. The 25-year-old turned professional just last year, showcasing rapid progress in his career.
In the semi-finals, Aidil Sholeh faced off against Sri Lanka’s Viren Nettasinghe, who is ranked 71st globally, and emerged victorious with scores of 21-16, 21-18.
