AIC 2025 to Unlock Regional Growth and Promote Sustainability, Says Securities Commission

Kuala Lumpur: The ASEAN Investment Conference (AIC) 2025 is set to serve as a pivotal platform for unlocking regional growth opportunities and promoting sustainability, as stated by the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the managing director of SC, Datin Paduka Azalina Adham, highlighted the significant ‘demographic dividend’ of ASEAN, noting its population of over 600 million and its status as the fastest-growing region globally. “The main focus of AIC 2025 is to look at profiling ASEAN to the ASEAN population itself and the ASEAN+3 region, and to reflect on the opportunities and growth within the region,” she conveyed during a media briefing for AIC 2025.

The conference, hosted by the SC, is scheduled to take place at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from April 8-9, 2025. It is expected to gather 400 attendees from ASEAN member states and the ASEAN+3 region. The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, with high-level attendees such as Minister of Finance II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, Singapore Minister for Transport and Second Minister for Finance Chee Hong Tat, and Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz.

Azalina also mentioned that the Prime Minister will launch the ASEAN Simplified Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Disclosure Guide for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in supply chains. Furthermore, the CGS International Securities Malaysia will introduce an investment challenge aimed at university students to familiarize them with the capital market. An announcement on fractional trading by the Prime Minister is also anticipated as one of the key launches during the conference.
