Kuala lumpur: AI-Media, a global leader in artificial intelligence-powered captioning and audio description technology, has launched its ADA Title II Compliance Initiative to assist state and local governments across the United States in adhering to newly established federal accessibility requirements for digital content.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in April 2024, the US Department of Justice finalized the ADA Title II Web and Mobile Accessibility Rule, mandating public entities to conform to WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards across websites, mobile applications, and multimedia content. Compliance deadlines are set for April 24, 2026, for entities serving populations exceeding 50,000, and April 26, 2027, for smaller jurisdictions and special districts.
Public entities are facing a significant accessibility transition with the new ADA Title II rule, which establishes clear expectations for digital accessibility. AI-Media’s mission is to equip governments with AI-powered tools that facilitate compliance efficiently and cost-effectively, according to AI-Media Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tony Abrahams.
The initiative includes a multi-month educational campaign and the introduction of a 10-Point ADA Title II Compliance Checklist. Central to the program are two flagship AI-Media technologies: LEXI Text, which offers AI-powered captioning and transcription for live and pre-recorded content, and LEXI AD, which provides AI-powered audio description with advanced customization for natural-sounding narration, enabling agencies to meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards effectively.
As agencies prepare for the new ADA Title II deadlines, they seek scalable, cost-effective solutions to deliver accessible digital services. LEXI Text and LEXI AD offer precisely that, with AI-driven captioning and audio description solutions that facilitate compliance on a large scale, added Abrahams.
The campaign is part of AI-Media’s expanded Government Solutions program, designed to support public entities through scalable technology and predictable cost models. AI-Media will host a national webinar titled “ADA Title II: Compliance Made Simple with AI” on January 20, 2026. The session will review WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility requirements and demonstrate how AI-driven captioning and audio description tools support compliance.
