Kuala lumpur: UMNO president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will soon convene a meeting with Negeri Sembilan UMNO assemblymen to discuss their position. Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, who is also the MADANI Government spokesperson, announced that the Deputy Prime Minister had informed the Cabinet, during its meeting today, of the planned meeting to address developments surrounding the state's political and administrative situation.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Fahmi Fadzil further relayed that during the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that business operations will proceed as usual for the Negeri Sembilan government. He reassured that the federal government will refrain from interfering in matters related to adat (customary) affairs. This was stated during a briefing on the global supply crisis and a post-Cabinet press conference.

In recent developments, all 14 UMNO-Barisan Nasional assemblymen in Negeri Sembilan decided last Monday to unanimously withdraw their support for the state government led by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin. This decision was made in response to the ongoing leadership crisis. Despite this, Anwar affirmed that Aminuddin will continue to perform his duties as Menteri Besar, as decreed by the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir.
