Kangar: Perak’s Aiman Ridhwan Mohamad Ramlan and Terengganu’s Wan Sofea Aini Wan Mohd Zahidi, who emerged champions of the National Al-Quran Recitation Competition 1446H/2025, are poised to replicate the success on the international stage, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid expressed confidence in their potential, stating that with continuous guidance, prayers, and dedication, these exceptional Quran reciters could bring pride to the nation globally. He emphasized their responsibility to represent Malaysia internationally and noted Malaysia’s previous success in international Quran recitation and memorisation competitions.
Aiman Ridhwan and Wan Sofea Aini were crowned champions at the National Quran Recitation and Memorisation Assembly (MTQHK) 1446H/2025, which concluded yesterday in Kangar, Perlis. They each took home RM20,000 in cash and an additional RM10,000 to perform the haj, along with a trophy, souvenirs, and a certificate of participation. Furthermore, they received a gold dinar from the Islamic Economic Development Foundation of Malaysia (YAPEIM) and a smartphone.
Ahmad Zahid congratulated the champions and expressed hope that their achievements would inspire more Malaysian youth to deeply engage with and cherish the Quran, not just as a scripture but as a life guide. He called for nurturing a Quran-centric generation, adorned with noble morals, to serve as a blessing to the nation and the ummah.
