Kuala Lampur:Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has extended his congratulations to the Malaysian contingent for their achievements at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games in Japan.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the pride that the athletes' success brings to Malaysia on the Asian stage, showcasing their ability to compete with top athletes from the region.
He emphasized that each medal represents the athletes' dedication, discipline, and fighting spirit. Ahmad Zahid also expressed gratitude to the coaches, team officials, and supporters who have been instrumental in the national contingent's success.
The Malaysian team wrapped up their participation in the 20th Asian Games with a total of nine gold, seven silver, and 16 bronze medals. The gold medals were earned in events including squash, karate, e-sports, sepak takraw, and track cycling.
