Ahmad Zahid Commends KEMAS Facilitators for Medal Haul at World Chefs Championship

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his appreciation to the 49 Community Facilitators in the culinary field of the Community Development Department (KEMAS) who successfully brought home 48 medals at the World Chefs Championship 2026 in Johor Bahru from May 21 to 23.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in a Facebook post, Ahmad Zahid highlighted the achievement at the international-level tournament, which saw participation from over 40 countries, as a significant accomplishment for Malaysia. He extended his gratitude to all participants, instructors, coaches, and KEMAS staff for their hard work and dedication in bringing honour to the nation.

Ahmad Zahid emphasized that the success not only celebrated the culinary talents from Malaysia but also showcased the local culinary identity on a global platform through the creativity and skills of KEMAS personnel. The event featured a diverse range of culinary presentation s, from traditional cuisine to modern culinary arts, which were recognized internationally.

The Deputy Prime Minister noted that the achievement underscores the relevance of skills training institutions under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW) in producing highly skilled individuals capable of competing globally. He expressed optimism that this success would enhance the reputation of KEMAS Community Facilitators in the culinary field and inspire more young people to pursue skills development as a promising career path.

Ahmad Zahid encouraged the facilitators to continue striving for excellence and to further elevate Malaysia's reputation on the world stage.
