Ahmad Zahid Advocates for Global Expansion of UMNO Women Entrepreneurs’ Products

Kuala lumpur: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has called for the international marketing of products created by UMNO Women entrepreneurs, emphasizing the enhanced quality and competitiveness of these locally produced goods.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid, who also holds the positions of UMNO president and Rural and Regional Development Minister, stressed that the scope of marketing should go beyond the domestic arena and reach the global market. He highlighted this during his speech at the opening of the Laman Wanita Kreatif (Creative Women's Pavilion), an event organized as part of the 2026 UMNO General Assembly (PAU) at WTC Kuala Lumpur.

Ahmad Zahid urged that the products should not be limited to sales at the World Trade Centre (WTC) but rather have a worldwide presence. He praised the quality of the products, suggesting that they are more than capable of competing on an international level. The event was also attended by UMNO Women chief Datuk Seri Dr Noraini Ahmad.

The Deputy Prime Minister elaborated on the potential global reach through the 'Gate to Global' initiative, a special programme under the Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) designed to assist Bumiputera entrepreneurs in accessing international markets and the global halal industry.

He also lauded the Laman Wanita Kreatif programme as a significant effort that supports women entrepreneurs in promoting and marketing their products. This initiative, organized by the UMNO Malaysia Women's Economic and Financial Development Secretariat, showcases 26 UMNO Women entrepreneurs from various regions of the country. The exhibitors offer a range of locally made products, such as health products, handicrafts, and traditional foods including chips and cakes.
