Kuala lumpur: Agrobank today launched the Easy Financing Scheme for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) graduates who wish to venture into entrepreneurship upon completing their studies. Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu introduced the TVET Graduates Financing Scheme during the Malaysia Agriculture, Horticulture and Agrotourism Exhibition (MAHA) 2026.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event also featured the signing ceremony for a strategic collaboration between Agrobank and the Persatuan Industri Bersepadu Komuniti dan Swasta, Kolej Vokasional dan Sekolah Menengah Teknik Peringkat Kebangsaan (PIBKS KVSMT Kebangsaan). Agrobank, in a statement today, clarified that the financing scheme allows eligible TVET graduates to obtain financing between RM1,000 and RM5,000. The financing period extends up to five years with an interest rate of 4.75 per cent per annum. The funds can be utilized for purchasing equipment, machinery, tools, and other necessities to initiate or expand business operations in relevant fields.
The Easy Financing Scheme for TVET Graduates is available to Malaysians aged 18 to 35 who hold a diploma, degree, or certificate from an accredited technical and vocational institution in Malaysia. This campaign will run from September 2026 to August 2027, or until the RM10 million allocation is exhausted, whichever occurs first, as detailed in the statement.
According to Agrobank, a significant advantage of the scheme is the simplified application process. It eliminates the need for a work experience period or a minimum business operation period, exempts applicants from submitting income documents, and does not require collateral for the financing application.
Agrobank Group president and chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin emphasized that the collaboration demonstrates Agrobank's commitment to supporting young individuals, particularly TVET graduates with technical skills and the potential to establish their businesses. He noted that while TVET graduates possess practical skills relevant to industry needs, the lack of initial capital often hinders their ability to transform those skills into business opportunities.
The TVET Graduates Financing Scheme is offered to the earliest applicants based on fund availability and Agrobank's terms and conditions. Regarding the strategic collaboration, Agrobank and PIBKS KVSMT Kebangsaan aim to enhance access for TVET graduates nationwide, increase awareness about available financing facilities, and support the development of more skilled young entrepreneurs.
This initiative also reinforces Agrobank's role in promoting talent and entrepreneurship development among the younger generation through financing access tailored to their needs, according to the statement.
