Actress Nadia Kesuma Dies In Jeddah

Jeddah: Actress Nadia Kesuma, who was reported missing at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah on Thursday, has died of a heart attack. The matter was confirmed by her husband, Prof Dr Muhammad Kamarul Kabilan Abdullah, in a Facebook post this morning. Muhammad Kamarul, 57, said his wife died at 8.07 am on Thursday, the same day she was reported missing.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Kamarul expressed his sadness by announcing the demise of his beloved wife, Nadiah Kasumawati Abdul Karim, on Facebook. The actress's daughter revealed that the family was informed of her mother's death by the travel agency at 11 pm. Nadia Kesuma had suffered a heart attack and was taken to the hospital on the same day she arrived at Jeddah airport. The family was notified of her condition only late in the evening.

Nadia Kesuma was part of an Umrah-London-Paris package organized by a travel agency along with 21 other pilgrims. The group departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) early Tuesday morning.

The Foreign Ministry announced that the Embassy of Malaysia in Riyadh and the Consulate General of Malaysia in Jeddah are providing necessary consular assistance to the family. Representatives from the embassy and consulate general are on-site to monitor the situation and facilitate the next steps. The ministry confirmed the actress's death after coordination with local authorities and reviewing available records.

The ministry conveyed condolences to the family and expressed gratitude to Saudi authorities for their cooperation. Emphasizing its commitment to Malaysian citizens' welfare abroad, the ministry stated it would respect the family's privacy by withholding further personal details.
