Paris: National men’s doubles aces Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik kept Malaysia’s campaign alive at the French Open 2025 after battling past Indonesia’s Sabar Karyaman Gutama and Moh Reza Pahlevi Isfahani in a thrilling quarterfinal clash early this morning (Malaysian time).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the world number two duo fought tooth and nail to secure a 21-19, 16-21, 21-19 victory to advance into the semifinals, where they will face another Indonesian pair, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri, for a place in the final at Glaz Arena. However, based on their head-to-head record, the pair had previously defeated Aaron and Wooi Yik in their meeting at the China Open in July.

Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani also saw their campaign fizzle out after being defeated by Denmark’s Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen, 14-21, 21-17, and 23-25.
In the women’s doubles, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah fell 16-21, 16-21 to Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan of China.
