Aaron: Newspaper Collection Search Process Shortened, Enhances Service Efficiency

Kuala lumpur: The process of searching for newspaper materials in the National Collection has been successfully shortened from three days to one day through the implementation of the National Collection Newspaper Database (PNMNewsHub). National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang announced that the initiative under the Public Service Reform Agenda (ARPA) will enhance service efficiency for users, thereby allowing faster access to necessary materials.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the initiative also reduces user costs as there is no need to attend a second time and saves time without having to wait up to three days. Datuk Aaron highlighted that the record of the position and monitoring of reference materials can now be identified and recorded systematically, enhancing the overall efficiency of the process.

He further stated that the ministry, through the National Library of Malaysia (PNM), will continue to strengthen the delivery of public services through the PNMNewsHub. This service includes access to monographs, serial publications, as well as electronic and digital resources, making it a comprehensive resource for users.

"This effort is in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI in strengthening the culture of knowledge, empowering innovation, and ensuring more efficient and inclusive access to information for the people," Aaron added in the statement. The initiative marks a significant step in improving access to information and supporting the nation's commitment to fostering an informed and innovative society.
