Kuala lumpur: The Humanitarian Trust Fund for the People of Palestine (AAKRP), managed by the Foreign Ministry, has been bolstered by an additional RM10.35 million in contributions. These funds, sourced from government-linked companies (GLCs), government-linked investment companies (GLICs), and corporate bodies, have increased the total collected to an impressive RM113 million.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan highlighted that RM86 million of the total amount has already been allocated for humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people. The recent contributions came from prominent entities such as Tenaga Nasional Berhad, Media Prima Bhd, Telekom Malaysia, Berjaya Corporation, Kuala Lumpur Kepong, and Pelaburan Hartanah Berhad. The funds are directed to international organizations and NGOs engaged in humanitarian efforts in Palestine, including the United Nations, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and Malaysian NGOs part of the Ops Ihsan initiative.
Mohamad also mentioned that the government has approved an additional RM9.6 million for Ops Ihsan, to be distributed among NGOs conducting humanitarian operations, particularly those in Gaza. He reiterated that the AAKRP remains open for public contributions, which can be made via the account details on the ministry's website.

He also condemned the crimes against humanity occurring in Gaza and the West Bank, stressing that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has been vocal in expressing Malaysia's principled stance.
