Kuala lumpur: The Ninth Battalion of the Border Regiment (9 RS) successfully thwarted an attempt by a local individual to smuggle approximately 240 kilograms of chicken rumps through a river route at the Limbang border early today. The operation took place during a routine patrol at around 4:30 am when troops noticed a suspicious Proton Saga navigating the river route.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Ninth Infantry Brigade (9 Brigade) revealed in a statement that an inspection of the vehicle led to the discovery of 20 boxes containing chilled chicken rumps. These were believed to be intended for illegal export via the river crossing.
The statement further disclosed that all the chilled food supplies, along with the Proton Saga, were seized. The seized items have been handed over to the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) in Limbang for further legal action.
