Makkah: Another Malaysian haj pilgrim has passed away in the Holy Land, increasing the total number of Malaysian pilgrim deaths to 20. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, confirmed the passing of 79-year-old Siti Meriam Shahbudin from Johor, who died at Mubarak Hotel in Makkah this morning due to a heart attack.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar conveyed his condolences via a Facebook post. He expressed, “May Allah SWT have mercy on her soul, accept her acts of worship, and place her among the righteous.” He also extended his sympathies to Siti Meriam’s family and relatives, wishing them strength and patience during this challenging time.
