56 Per Cent Of TH 2025 Haj Pilgrims From B40, M40 Groups – GEAR-uP Report

Kuala lumpur: A total of 17,696 individuals or 56 per cent of the total 31,600 Malaysian Hajj pilgrims managed by Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) last year were from B40 and M40 households who received TH's partial subsidies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, of the total, 72 per cent or 22,752 pilgrims travelled directly under TH. The report also noted that TH has spent more than 62 years building a system that ensures the haj journey for Malaysians is safe, dignified, and accessible.

'The results speak for themselves. TH's haj management is widely considered by the Muslim world and Saudi Arabia itself as a model benchmark. TH was also awarded the Labaytum Diamond Award for the second consecutive year in 2026, the highest distinction in global haj management,' read the report.

It also stated that Malaysia is a pioneer country and one of only ten nations selected for the Makkah Route programme. This initiative streamlines the journey by allowing Saudi immigration pre-clearance in Malaysia, direct luggage transfer to hotels in Makkah, and seamless movement from aircraft to accommodation.
