516 Flood Evacuees Seek Shelter in Perak and Selangor Relief Centres

Selangor: A total of 516 individuals affected by flooding are currently housed in relief centres across Perak and Selangor.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the number of evacuees at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) RTB Bukit Changgang in Selangor has decreased to 406 people from 194 families, down from 522 people from 233 families the previous night. Meanwhile, in Perak, the relief centres are accommodating 110 people from 31 families.

The relief centre with the highest number of evacuees is Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Matang Gelugor in the Larut, Matang, and Selama district of Perak, sheltering 59 people from 15 families from Kampung Matang Pasir and Kampung Matang Gelugor. Additionally, 51 people from 16 families from Kampung Ulu Geruntum are taking refuge at Dewan Bandaran Gopeng.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department has predicted rainfall tonight in five districts: Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, and Batang Padang.
