5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Flores Region, Indonesia

Flores: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale occurred in the Flores region of Indonesia at 12.40 pm today. The seismic activity was recorded at coordinates 8.1 degrees South and 120.8 degrees East, approximately 240 kilometers east of Bima, Indonesia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that the earthquake struck at a depth of 34 kilometers. Despite its moderate magnitude, MetMalaysia confirmed that it posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
