Yunfu: South China Medicine is a significant component of the traditional Chinese medicine industry. The 4th Guangdong South China Medicine Industry Conference is set to be held in Yunfu, Guangdong province, from January 4th to 6th, 2025, aiming to promote South China Medicine nationally and globally.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Yunfu, with its extensive history in South China Medicine, is recognized as “the hometown of South China Medicine”, “the hometown of Chinese cinnamon”, and “the hometown of traditional Chinese medicine processing”. It stands as the largest cinnamon-producing area in China and is tasked with establishing the Germplasm Resource Bank for Traditional Chinese Medicine of China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences (CACMS).

Yunfu boasts 1,152 species of medicinal plants, with 58 species cultivated on a large scale over more than 900 square kilometers. The region has developed substantial industrial clusters and is moving forward with constructing a modern industrial system for traditional Chinese medicine, particularly South China Medicine.
