Johor bahru: The nation's gross domestic product (GDP) for the fourth quarter of 2025, to be announced by the Statistics Department today, is projected to show positive growth. Economy Minister Akmal Nasrullah Mohd Nasir said the positive performance is proof that the country's economy remains on a strong footing.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Akmal Nasrullah emphasized the importance of the government's readiness and commitment in addressing economic complexities. He highlighted the necessity for vigilance against external geopolitical developments, noting that 2026 is anticipated to be a globally challenging year. He shared these insights with reporters after officiating the Johor State Early Schooling Assistance Cheque Handover Ceremony.
Additionally, Akmal Nasrullah discussed the need for preparedness in facing economic uncertainties arising from geopolitical tensions, such as the conflict between Iran and the United States. He assured that the government would work to strengthen the economy to mitigate the impact of these uncertainties on the domestic front.
He underscored the importance of diversifying efforts beyond merely attracting investments. He also stressed the significance of executing the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) with precision and adherence to its planning, highlighting the necessity for good governance.
