4,800 Selangor Haj Pilgrims Receive State Incentive, Disbursement to Complete by September

Puchong: A total of 4,800 out of 6,000 recipients of the 2026 Selangor Muassasah Haj Incentive have received the assistance to date, with disbursement to all recipients expected to be completed by September. Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the remaining more than 1,000 recipients were being identified and contacted to complete the disbursement process.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Amirudin expressed confidence in completing the process for all 6,000 recipients by the end of August or September. He delivered these remarks at the 2026 Muassasah Haj Incentive Contribution Presentation Ceremony for the Dengkil state constituency at the Putra Perdana Community Hall, Puchong. The event was also attended by Deputy Housing and Local Government Minister Datuk Aiman Athirah Sabu, who is also Sepang Member of Parliament.

The ceremony in Puchong involved 259 recipients and was part of a series of assistance handover ceremonies for Muassasah pilgrims throughout Selangor. The state government, through the Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated Foundation (Yayasan MBI), has allocated RM9 million for the implementation of the 2026 Muassasah Haj Incentive Programme, benefiting 6,000 Muassasah pilgrims throughout the state.

Under the initiative, each recipient receives RM1,500 in assistance to prepare for the Haj pilgrimage, including covering the cost of religious equipment, medication, clothing, and other necessities. Amirudin stated the state government aimed to increase the incentive to RM2,000 per recipient in the future, depending on its financial capacity and prevailing circumstances.

Amirudin mentioned plans to potentially increase the incentive by 2027 or 2028, with assessments on the programme's suitability and the prevailing circumstances. He noted that financial constraints may arise, but the target remains set at RM2,000 when feasible.
