Kuala lumpur: A total of 102 schools in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor have been allowed to implement Home-based Teaching and Learning (PdPR) and Work from Home (WFH) arrangements from October 23 to 29 in conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit. The Ministry of Education (MOE) announced this initiative to ensure that students’ learning processes are maintained amidst the road closures and heightened security measures expected during the summit.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MOE emphasized that the decision is aimed at minimizing disruptions in education. The ministry advised parents, guardians, students, teachers, and school staff to stay informed through their respective schools’ official communication channels about the PdPR and WFH implementations.
The ministry highlighted the effectiveness of PdPR and WFH from previous experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic and the ASEAN Summit in May. These measures have been successful in ensuring the continuity of the learning process while protecting the well-being of students, teachers, and school staff.
The upcoming ASEAN Summit is anticipated to be the largest and most high-profile gathering of world leaders in the country. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has indicated that prominent leaders, including United States President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, along with heads of government from ASEAN member states and dialogue partner countries, are expected to attend.
