418 People Evacuated in Beaufort Due to Flooding

Beaufort: A total of 418 people from 121 families have been evacuated due to the floods in Beaufort as of 8 am today, with the Membakut expected to be the next district to be affected.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sabah Disaster Management Committee Secretariat, in a statement today, said that 374 people from 106 families were evacuated to the relief centre at Dewan Selagon, while 44 victims from 15 families were evacuated to the PPS at Dewan Datuk Sri Panglima Mohd Dun Banir.

The statement further mentioned, “10 villages are affected by the floods in Beaufort.”

Meanwhile, the flood has spread to the Membakut district this morning, and the PPS at the Dewan Kesenian Islam Membakut has been activated for the possible evacuation of flood victims.
