413 People Still At Seven PPS In Sabah Due To Ongoing Floods

Kota Kinabalu: The number of flood victims in the Telupid and Paitan districts remained at 413 people, involving 124 families, as of 8 am today. The Secretariat of the Sabah Disaster Management Committee, in a statement, confirmed this figure, indicating the continuing impact of the floods on the local population.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, 350 of the evacuees, from 102 families, are currently residing at five relief centres (PPS) in Telupid. Meanwhile, the remaining 63 evacuees, representing 22 families, have been accommodated at two PPS in Paitan. The flooding has impacted a total of 14 villages, with six villages affected in Telupid and eight in Paitan.

Telupid and Paitan, both situated in the interior of Sabah, are located over 200 kilometres and over 230 kilometres east of Kota Kinabalu, respectively. These areas are experiencing significant challenges as local authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide necessary aid to those affected.
