He noted that of the total, 35 cases pertained to heat exhaustion, followed by three instances of heatstroke due to physical activity, two cases of indoor heatstroke, and one case of heat cramps. "However, as of yesterday, no new heat-related cases have been reported," he informed reporters during the launch of the 'Mai Kurang' Recipe Book and the 'Rewang Bersama Komuniti' programme at the Tun Abdul Razak Memorial.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, as of 6 am today, 13 districts in five states recorded Level 1 hot weather, or the alert category, involving areas such as Perlis, several districts in Kedah, Kelantan, Perak, as well as Jerantut in Pahang. Additionally, Machang district in Kelantan has been identified as experiencing Level 2 hot weather, indicating a heatwave.
In a related development, Dzulkefly expressed support for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's proposal to limit the movement of Cabinet members and ministries in response to the global supply crisis. He commented that the measure aligns with the MADANI Government's approach, which emphasizes prudent financial management amidst current challenges. Immediate measures are needed to prevent Malaysia from facing energy rationing, as seen in other countries, he added.
Yesterday, Prime Minister Anwar stated that the government is working on more drastic measures to curb energy consumption due to the global supply crisis, which includes potentially restricting the movement of Cabinet members and ministries. He emphasized that immediate action is crucial to prevent Malaysia from experiencing energy rationing and mentioned that a final decision will be made at the upcoming National Economic Action Council (MTEN) meeting.
