3,383 Flood Victims Still Sheltering In Sarawak, Sabah PPS

Kuala lumpur: A total of 3,383 flood victims are still being housed in temporary relief centres (PPS) in Sarawak and Sabah as of this evening, with both states recording a decrease in the number of victims.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Sarawak, the number of victims has decreased slightly to 3,019 from 888 families compared to 3,031 from 876 families this morning. The Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) has reported that all victims are accommodated in 40 PPS, located in Serian, Kuching, Simunjan, Gedong, Sibu, Mukah, Bintulu, Miri, Balai Ringin, and Samarahan. The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) had issued a continuous rain warning at alert level for several areas in Sarawak until today.

In Sabah, flood victims showed a downward trend with 364 victims from 136 families being recorded, compared to 462 people from 157 families this morning. The Sabah JPBN secretariat informed that two PPS in Beaufort are still operating, namely the Dewan Selagon Permanent Evacuation Centre and Dewan Sri Dayang Shahbandar Padas Damit.
