Nilai: An integrated operation by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) at a construction site in Nilai led to the arrest of 30 illegal immigrants yesterday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Negeri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad stated that the raid was conducted under Ops Pintas Mega by the Nilai District Police Headquarters (IPD) Criminal Investigation Division. During the operation, 63 foreign workers at the site were checked, and half of them were found without valid travel documents.
He further detailed that the group of 30 arrested individuals comprised 21 men from China, two from Bangladesh, and seven from Myanmar, all of whom were unable to produce identification or work permits. These individuals have been taken to the Nilai IPD for further action. Efforts are currently underway to trace the employers and responsible parties associated with these workers.
The case is being investigated under Section 6(1)(c) of the Immigration Act 1959/63 (Act 155).
