Kota bharu: About 25,000 visitors are anticipated at the Kelantan edition of the MADANI Rakyat programme (PMR), which Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will officially open at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium grounds in Kota Bharu from August 7 to 9.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Communications Ministry (Strategic Communications) deputy secretary-general, Nik Kamaruzaman Nik Husin, stated that the event is themed ‘Science, Technology and Innovation for the People’s Well-being.’ The programme is structured as a carnival-style event, highlighting government service delivery across eight core components. This initiative aims to ensure that no segment of society is excluded from the nation’s development agenda.
Nik Kamaruzaman urged the people of Kelantan to engage in the various activities planned and contribute to making the Kelantan PMR 2025 a vibrant event. This call was made during the launch of the Kita MADANI X PMR Carnival and the state-level 2025 National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang campaign at the Kota Bharu Schools Complex.
This marks the sixth edition of the carnival, organized by the Department of Information (JaPen) as a part of an outreach initiative for government agencies to directly engage with local communities in a festive environment. The programme also serves as one of the Communications Ministry’s strategic approaches, through the Information Department (JaPen), to convey government information, policies, and initiatives to local communities.
The event will include a variety of casual, community-oriented activities such as community clean-ups, colouring and floral arrangement contests, traditional games, communal feasts, patriotic talent shows, rhyming verse exchanges, and dikir barat performances.
In line with the National Month, there will be a state-level National Month and Fly the Jalur Gemilang celebration, alongside the flag-off of the Kelantan leg of the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang convoy. This convoy will feature Harley Davidson Kelantan riders and a decorated trishaw parade, enhancing the spirit of independence.
