2,354 Police Personnel Assigned for 2026 National Day Security Operations

Putrajaya: A total of 2,354 members and officers of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have been assigned to ensure the highest level of security and smooth running of the 2026 National Day celebrations at Dataran Putrajaya on Monday. Putrajaya district police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed said the assignment involved static control and traffic control at strategic locations in the area where the annual event is being held.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aidi Sham advised the public to arrive early at Dataran Putrajaya and comply with all regulations set by the authorities, including avoiding parking in prohibited areas and ensuring the safety of children and belongings. He emphasized the importance of not bringing dangerous weapons to the event, aiming to maintain a safe environment for all attendees.

Aidi Sham made these remarks to reporters following the full rehearsal of the 2026 National Day celebration, which was attended by Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil. Fahmi highlighted that the celebration, themed 'Malaysia MADANI: Kesejahteraan Dinikmati', is expected to attract more than 80,000 visitors, marking the 69th National Day at Dataran Putrajaya on August 31.
