Kuching: The 2026 Malaysia Day Celebration Exhibition has also been expanded to various digital platforms and social media accounts of agencies under the Communications Ministry, in an effort to heed Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's call to make the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63) a national narrative.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Communications Minister Datuk Seri Fahmi Fadzil stated that disseminating information through various digital platforms, such as Merdeka360, the Information Department (JAPEN), and the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS), would enable the country's formation story to reach a wider audience. He highlighted the importance of sharing stories like who designed the Proclamation of Malaysia 1963, which are rarely heard, and noted that the National Archives holds valuable information that should be published on official social media accounts of relevant agencies.

The physical exhibition features a large-scale gallery and a 'history tunnel' and is being held in 10 divisions in Sarawak, alongside a mini exhibition in Putrajaya and Sabah. This setup allows the public to view documents related to the formation of Malaysia, deepening their appreciation of the country's history. Running from September 10 to 16, the exhibition highlights important documents related to MA63, the Federal Constitution, and the Rukun Negara through five main segments, including the Malaysia Formation Timeline and the Leaders Gallery.

Fahmi also announced that the highlight of the Malaysia Day 2026 celebration is scheduled at the Borneo Kuching Convention Centre (BCCK) on Wednesday. It will showcase cultural diversity through cultural performances and performances by local artistes Dayang Nurfaizah, Stacy, and Faizal Tahir, representing the three regions. Fahmi advised visitors planning to watch the fireworks display at the Kuching Waterfront to take precautions due to the haze situation, recommending the use of N95 face masks as advised by the Health Ministry (MOH).
