Kudat: A total of 18 heads of households (KIR) affected by the fire in Kampung Gumpa, Kudat in Sabah on April 16 have received initial assistance in the form of a cash donation of RM1,000 along with kitchen necessities. Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Sabah and Sarawak) Datuk Mustapha Sakmud announced the distribution of aid, highlighting it as a gesture from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, reflecting the MADANI government's commitment to supporting disaster-stricken citizens.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the fire incident in Kampung Gumpa resulted in the destruction of eight houses, significantly impacting the lives of the 18 families involved. Datuk Mustapha Sakmud emphasized that no citizen should face disasters alone and expressed hope for the victims' recovery. He conveyed his message via a Facebook post, offering words of encouragement and support to the affected families.
Datuk Mustapha expressed gratitude to all parties, including government agencies, security forces, and local community leaders, who have been aiding the victims since the disaster struck. Additionally, he urged the public to remain vigilant, especially during the ongoing hot weather, to help prevent future fire incidents.
