Kuala lumpur: Lady Luck smiled on teenager Muhammad Adam Akif Salizan when he won the grand prize of a Yadea RS20 electric motorcycle at the HAWANA Fun Walk 2026 lucky draw at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa today. The 17-year-old described the win as an unexpected blessing, especially since it was his first time winning in a lucky draw. “I am so thrilled because I have never won anything before. I really did not expect today’s luck to be on my side,” he told Bernama.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Muhammad Adam took part in the event with six family members from Hulu Langat. Held for the first time in conjunction with National Journalists’ Day (HAWANA) 2026 and organised by the Ministry of Communications through the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) as the implementing agency, the HAWANA Fun Walk attracted nearly 2,000 participants. The event aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle and bridge the gap between media practitioners and the community.
Fortune also favoured six-year-old Seth Raid Albakri Mohd Jamil, who took home an EZI RAY-01 electric motorcycle. His mother, Serieffa Mushtafa Albakry, 44, said Seth was so ecstatic about the win that he guarded his new prize closely. “He was so happy that he wouldn’t let anyone else, including his father and brother, touch it because he insists it’s his,” she said with a laugh.
Waliyuddin Kamaruzzaman, who won a three-seater ALGO electric scooter, almost missed the prize because he was in the restroom when his winning number was called. Fortunately, his wife, Shaha Wali, standing near the stage, quickly stepped forward to claim the prize with his ticket. “Alhamdulillah, the motorcycle will be useful in sending the children to school and doing daily errands,” said Waliyuddin, who took part in the event with family members from Ampang and Cheras.
Other winners included Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) clerk Norfazira Ahmad Sabri, 31, who was grateful to have won an air fryer, as were several colleagues who joined the event and bagged various prizes. Similarly, 26-year-old Asymal Widad Asyhar Badri, who attended with friends, took home an ice box. “I am very happy because I rarely win lucky draws. Thank you Bernama for preparing so many prizes for today’s activities,” he said.
The highlight of the HAWANA 2026 celebrations, themed ‘Media Integrity Strengthens Credibility’, will take place on June 20 at the PICCA Convention Centre @ Butterworth Arena in Penang and is scheduled to be officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
