150 Labuan Families Get Water Tanks While Waiting For Pipe Replacement Completion

Labuan: A total of 150 families from seven villages in Labuan received water tanks as a temporary measure while waiting for the completion of a pipe replacement project.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the tanks, worth RM82,000, were part of a special allocation from Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories) Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa. ‘This distribution serves as a short-term solution to help affected families cope with water supply disruptions, while the long-term solution, which involves the replacement of ageing and damaged pipes, is already in progress,’ Dr Zaliha told Bernama after the handover ceremony.

She also reiterated the government’s commitment to improving infrastructure in Labuan and ensuring that residents have access to a stable clean water supply.

The seven villages that received the tanks were Kampung Pantai, Kg Bukit Kuda, Kg Patau-Patau 1 and 2, Lubok Temiang, Durian Tunjong, and Belukut.
