Kuala lumpur: The Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM) will host the 14th edition of the SSM National Conference (SSMNC) in 2025, continuing its commitment to advancing discussions on corporate governance and regulatory practices in Malaysia.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, this year’s conference will carry the theme, ‘Leading Governance for Sustainable Growth,’ focusing on visionary leadership, sound governance, and long-term business resilience. The two-day hybrid conference, scheduled for August 19-20, 2025, at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and online, aims to provide a platform for corporate professionals to discuss governance practices, regulatory trends, and sustainable development strategies.
Over the years, SSMNC has established itself as a platform for business and corporate professionals to stay informed and connected in an evolving business landscape. SSM Chief Executive Officer Datuk Nor Azimah Abdul Aziz stated that the theme for this year’s conference reflects governance as a strateg
ic advantage and emphasizes leadership in driving sustainable business growth across ASEAN and globally.
Nor Azimah highlighted SSM’s commitment to promoting responsible business practices and fostering long-term business resilience through robust corporate governance. She emphasized that as businesses face increasingly complex challenges, robust governance practices aid organizations in making better decisions, managing risks responsibly, and building trust with stakeholders.
SSMNC 2025 will feature 13 plenary sessions, with 36 distinguished speakers from ASEAN countries and 15 exhibitors. Notable speakers include Tan Sri Andrew Sheng, Gita Irawan Wirjawan, and Nadia S. Hassan, among others. The conference will also feature speakers from the Securities and Exchange Commission of the Philippines, the Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority of Singapore, and the ASEAN Secretariat.
Discussions will cover topics such as ‘Megatrends for a Sustainable Business Future,’ ‘The Rise of ASEAN: A Geopolitical a
nd Economic Powerhouse in the Global Arena,’ and ‘Doing Business In ASEAN: Growth, Opportunities and Challenges.’ Other topics include ‘SSM Enforcement Watch 2025: What’s New?’ and ‘Rethinking the Future of Boardroom Architecture and Human Capital.’
Participants will be eligible for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) points and the event is HRD Corp claimable, providing both insightful and beneficial opportunities for professional development. The conference is expected to attract around 2,000 delegates from various sectors.
