147 Former Military Personnel Attend MRSM Warden Interview Session

Kepong: A total of 147 candidates, who are former military personnel, attended a physical interview session for the selection of Full-Time External Wardens for MARA Junior Science Colleges (MRSM). The session took place last Monday and Tuesday at the MARA Food Technology Incubator in Kepong.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MARA Chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki announced that all candidates had previously passed two phases of online screening before being shortlisted and invited for the interview. The selection process involved three assessment components: Body Mass Index (BMI) screening, the Bleep Test, and a face-to-face interview to evaluate the candidates' merit and qualifications for the warden positions. Successful candidates are expected to commence their duties on July 1.

Dr Asyraf emphasized that the role of an MRSM warden extends beyond maintaining discipline and ensuring student safety. Wardens are expected to embrace MARA's Education Philosophy to nurture an Ulul Albab generation-students who excel academically and exhibit commendable character, high integrity, and a well-rounded knowledge of the hereafter. He described wardens as "second mothers and fathers" to MRSM students, serving as guides, educators, and spiritual mentors to help shape future generations.

Dr Asyraf also expressed hopes that the initiative would address issues such as bullying, disciplinary misconduct, and social ills, fostering a safer and more conducive environment at MRSM. The aim is to create a 'biah solehah' (righteous environment) that promotes good manners, respect, love, brotherhood, and a culture of seeking knowledge.

In a related development, Dr Asyraf noted that a total of 162 female former military warden candidates are scheduled to undergo their physical interview sessions next week.
