BAGAN DATUK: A total of 14 projects are being implemented under the MADANI Village Adoption Programme (KAM) at Kampung Sungai Betul here under the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development (KKDW). Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that all these projects are set to be completed by the end of this year. Ahmad Zahid, who is also Minister of Rural and Regional Development, highlighted that KKDW ranks first among 43 KAM projects for project implementation and spending progress.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Zahid stated, “According to records from all ministries, with the same allocation, the Ministry of Rural and Regional Development is the only one that is finishing its projects ahead of the others,” during his speech at the launch of the Tautan Desa MADANI Programme at Sekolah Kebangsaan Sungai Betul. Earlier, he visited the ongoing projects under this initiative.

The projects include eight physical developments such as upgrading the fence at Beting Beras Basah, enha
ncing rural access roads, and improving community facilities like the community hall and football field at SK Sungai Betul. Repairs and upgrades are also being made to religious sites and the homes of 25 Poor/B40 families. Additionally, six non-physical projects are underway, including community work for cleanliness and various skill development courses.

Furthermore, Ahmad Zahid stressed the government’s “colour-blind” approach to initiatives concerning public welfare, ensuring that development benefits all, regardless of political affiliations. “Even though (Kampung) Sungai Betul used to be ‘deep green’ (supporting the opposition), it’s okay, I forgive them, we are MADANI, we are colour-blind, we help even in areas that strongly oppose us,” he remarked. He also announced funding for further community enhancements in Kampung Sungai Betul, including wall construction and air-conditioning installation.
