13th Malaysia Plan’s Final Phase Focuses on Rural Development: Ahmad Zahid

Kuala lumpur: The final phase of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) is undergoing active adjustments to prioritize rural development, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. He emphasized that appropriate funding will be allocated to ensure the rural development agenda remains a focal point.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a meeting was convened with a delegation from the Ministry of Economy, headed by Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Amir Hamzah Azizan, to deliberate on the plan’s specifics. It was previously announced on June 27 that Amir Hamzah would undertake the responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Economy.

Ahmad Zahid, who also serves as the Minister of Rural and Regional Development, highlighted that the 13MP, soon to be presented, aims to become a crucial catalyst for national development. The plan will address the needs of citizens across different sectors, including rural communities, the TVET agenda, the halal industry, and disaster management, which are integral to the nation’s strength and prosperity.

In a Facebook post, Ahmad Zahid expressed confidence, stating, “Insya-Allah, everything discussed today will be thoroughly studied to formulate policies which are truly impactful, inclusive, sustainable, and people-centric.”
