Kuala Lumpur: The 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) is anticipated to be presented in Parliament on July 28, as announced by MADANI Government spokesman Datuk Fahmi Fadzil today. Fahmi, who also serves as the Minister of Communications, shared that during the Cabinet meeting held earlier today, the Economy Ministry’s secretary-general, Datuk Nor Azmie Diron, provided an overview and summary of the 13MP’s implementation.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed all ministries to review the draft of the plan and submit their feedback to the Economy Ministry ahead of its finalization for Parliamentary presentation. Fahmi expressed confidence that the tabling of the 13MP will occur on July 28, 2025, marking it as the first Malaysia Plan to be tabled by Prime Minister Anwar.
Prime Minister Anwar, who also holds the position of Finance Minister, indicated that the 13MP would be pivotal in the government’s strategy to tackle national economic challenges. These challenges include bridging development and income gaps, addressing limited fiscal space, and accelerating structural economic transitions. The plan, spanning the 2026-2030 period, is crucial for implementing the MADANI Economy agenda.
Additionally, Fahmi mentioned that the Prime Minister has urged Cabinet members to persist in their efforts to upgrade and enhance 30 schools situated within military camps nationwide. Furthermore, the Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the advancements in the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) project by Lumut Naval Shipyard (Lunas), highlighting it as an impressive accomplishment. Fahmi noted that the successful completion of projects like the LCS, especially through the expertise of local engineers, is a significant achievement.
