Makkah: Another Malaysian Haj pilgrim has died in Makkah, bringing the total number of Malaysian deaths during the 1446H/2025M Haj season to ten. Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs), Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar, confirmed the death of Abdul Malik Sudin, 62, who succumbed to a heart attack at King Abdullah Hospital. Sudin was staying at the Rehab Al-Janadriyah building and had completed the wukuf ritual in Arafah last Thursday.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Mohd Na’im spoke to reporters after the 1446H Haj Season Closing Ceremony organised by the Saudi Ministry of Haj and Umrah. He stated that the Pilgrims Fund Board (TH) has reached out to the deceased’s family and will manage all funeral and related welfare matters.
Mohd Na’im, on behalf of TH’s senior management, expressed condolences to the family and prayed for the deceased to be granted Allah’s mercy and for his good deeds to be accepted. Thus far, nine Malaysian pilgrims have died of heart attacks, while one succumbed to a bacterial infection and organ failure.
