Putrajaya: A 12-year-old boy was discovered drowned in a pond near the flyover at Precinct 17. The tragic incident unfolded when passers-by noticed the boy and promptly brought him to the Emergency Department at Putrajaya Hospital.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Putrajaya police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed reported that the police received an initial report about the incident from a member of the public at 5.12 pm. Upon the boy’s arrival at the hospital, doctors confirmed his death.

Aidi Sham further stated that preliminary investigations indicated the boy had been swimming in the pond with two of his friends at the time of the incident. A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted at 8 am the following day to determine the exact cause of death.
