Kota bharu: Twelve individuals, including company owners and a husband-and-wife team, appeared in Sessions Courts across Kelantan, Kedah, and Perak, facing charges related to submitting false claims for incentives under the Daya Kerjaya 2.0 Programme, administered by PERKESO. All defendants pleaded not guilty to the accusations.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, in Kelantan, six individuals were charged before Kota Bharu Sessions Court Judge Dazuki Ali. The accused included five company owners and a company manager, notably involving a father-son pair, Saipuddin Mohamad and Eadzelin Azmi, alongside others. The charges pertain to submitting false information on Employee Verification Forms to PERKESO agents, with alleged offenses occurring between May 18 and October 9, 2024. The prosecution is led by MACC Deputy Public Prosecutors Mariah Omar and Asmah Che Wan, with bail set between RM8,000 and RM14,000 for each defendant.
In Kedah, the Alor Setar Sessions Court charged four individuals, including Hafizoh Hamid of Fuad Trading Industry Sdn Bhd and her husband Fuad Osman, with false claims and abetment. Their alleged offenses took place in June and October 2024. Additionally, Westfield Retailing Sdn Bhd director Lee Zi Hao and his father faced similar charges, with offenses occurring from March to October 2024. Bail was set at RM7,000 and RM8,000 respectively, with the case to proceed later in September.
In Perak, two cleaning company owners, Neoh Wooi Lee and Shareen Noordin David Noordin, faced trial at the Ipoh Sessions Court for seven charges of submitting false claims between May and August 2024. Shareen also faced additional charges related to SN Super Clean Solution. Judge Ainul Sharin Mohamad granted bail of RM8,000 each, with proceedings set to continue in September.
The charges are based on Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009, with potential penalties including up to 20 years' imprisonment and fines significantly exceeding the amount of false claims. Meanwhile, in Pahang, a couple faced similar charges in the Kuantan Sessions Court, with bail set at RM8,000 and additional conditions imposed to ensure compliance with court proceedings.
