Kuantan: Pahang UMNO will deploy 100 members to assist Barisan Nasional’s (BN) machinery in facing the 17th Sabah State Election (PRN), which involves 73 state constituencies. Its chairman Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail Wan Rosdy, who is also the Pahang Menteri Besar, said the number could be increased if necessary to strengthen the campaign operations in the targeted areas.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Pahang UMNO’s efforts are part of a longstanding tradition within Barisan Nasional and UMNO, where members from other states contribute to campaign efforts during state or by-elections to help ensure victory for BN candidates. Wan Rosdy emphasized this collaborative approach while speaking to reporters at the Town Hall Pahang 1st Lecture Series at the Pahang Foundation Complex.
The assistance from Pahang UMNO’s election machinery will be concentrated in the Beluran district, covering the Telupid, Sugut, and Labuk constituencies. Additionally, support in the Kinabatangan district will focus on the Kuamu
t, Lamag, and Sukau constituencies.
Wan Rosdy also announced that about 20 students from Sekolah Patriotik UMNO will join the mission, providing them with exposure to the country’s democratic process.
The Election Commission has scheduled November 29 as the polling day for the 17th Sabah State Election, with nomination day set for November 15 and early voting on November 25.
